Acting career

Chiranjeevi was a student of the "Madras Film Institute" . Before completing his training, he attended auditions and selected for the film "Punaadi Raallu" (1978). But "Pranam Khareedu" was his first film released in theaters. his first succeded movie is 'Intilo Ramayya Vidhilo Krishnayya' with a negative role which was released in the year 1981. In the movie 'Paleru Narsayya' he acted without makeup and impressed the prominent members of the telugu industry. For his first movie he received a remuneration of Rs.1116. Towards the end of 1979. st interview was appeared in 'Jyothi Chitra film magazine' (interviewed by the journalist M Koteswara Rao)

Some of his Telugu films were dubbed in Hindi like Indra-the tiger, Coolie- Himmatwala, Bajrang-The Heman, Aadmi aur apsara. .His movies 'Abilasha', 'Adavidonga', 'Chantabbayi', 'Challenge', 'Gang Leader', 'Master', 'Kondaveeti Donga', 'Kodama Simham', 'Indra' and 'Tagore' are all block busters in Tollywood box office history.

Political life

Chiranjeevi is the founder of 'Prajarajyam' party on August 26, 2008. In the public meeting held at Avilala near 'Tirupati', he announced the party name as 'Praja Rajyam' saying the Rajyam (Rule) belongs to Praja (People). He unveiled the party flag in this meeting. 104 MLA tickets are awarded for the backward sections in Andhrapradesh including a poor tribal woman Tupakula munemma. He contested in 2009 general elections from two places one is "Palakollu" another "Tirupati", and won from 'Tirupati' constituency as MLA in Andhra Pradesh. This party got only 18 MLA seats in the 2009 general elections, then he shifted his focus on 'Telangana' issue. Then he mingiled his party with "Congress" with some reasons, Now chiranjeevi is Tourism minister of Congress party.
