Mohan Babu's Actual name is 'Manchu Bakthavatsalam Naidu', he is a film actor & producer in Telugu Cinema, and politician. He is a former Member of Parliament - Rajya Sabha and Educationist from Andhra Pradesh. He was born on March 19, 1952 at Modhugulapalem Chittoor District. Mohan Babu's parents are 'Manchu Narayanaswamy Naidu' and 'Lakshmamma'. He isspouse of 'Nirmala Devi Manchu', this pair have three children those are 'Vishnu Manchu', 'Manoj Manchu' and 'Lakshmi Manchu'. He had his schooling at Yerpedu village and Tirupati. He took his degree in Physical Education in Chennai. Worked as physical education instructor for a brief while, before making his debut as an artiste in Telugu film industry. He has received national honor Padma Shri in 2007, by Govt of India.

Mohan Babu was acted under direction of his guru 'Dr. Narayana Rao Dasari', who rechristened him Mohan Babu. His first break was in the film 'Swargam Narakam' in 1975. Mohan Babu is a fine actor with his unique dialogue delivery. He had acted in 510 films which include 216 films as Hero.

Film Career

A versatile actor, Mohan Babu played roles ranging from being a hero to anti-hero, to a character artist to a comedian. He is well-known for his accent and dialogue delivery in his movies. He produced his first hit film Prathigna (1983) in 1982, and in all has produced more than 30 films to date, including "Major Chandrakanth" which was a tribute to the late actor Dr. Taraka Rama Rao Nandamuri, the latter's last picture before his death in 1996. Mohan Babu has and is still known to dominate other actors on screen. His Straight forwardness is known all over India. His film 'Pedharaayudu is one of the several films that has come to stay as evergreen hits made indelible impression on the minds of the people. His two sons Vishnu Manchu and Manoj Manchu are leading film heroes. Daughter Lakshmi Manchu is a producer and plays prominent role in their home banner Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures.
