Bhumika Chawla's Actual name is 'Rachna Chawla', she was born on 22 August 1978 at New Delhi, India. Bhumika is an Indian actress. She appeared in 'Telugu', 'Tamil', 'Hindi', 'Bhojpuri', 'Punjabi' and 'Malayalam'. Her father and brother are an Army officers, She is the youngest of the family and living with her mother. Bhumika married 'Bharat Thakur' on 21 October 2007. She moved to Mumbai in 1997 and started her career with Advertisement films and Hindi music video albums. Bhumika Acted in an advertisement for Ponds talcum powder, it became popular and inevitably, film offers followed. She got an offer from the Telugu film industry and though "Yuvakudu" (2000) was her first movie.

Bhumika entered in film industry with the Tollywood movie 'Yuvakudu' in 2000, before coming into film industry she acted in advertisements like Ponds talcum powder. Bhuika's second film is 'Khushi' with 'Pavan Kalyan' was a super hit in Telugu. She got the 'Best Actress Award' for the film Kushi in Telugu. After success of kushi she acted around 5 movies in 'Telugu' and 'Tamil'.

Film Career

Bhumika has debut in hindi films from 'Tere Naam' in 2003 opposite 'Salman Khan', it was hit. After that her one more film released in this year(2004), 'Run' opposite 'Abhishek Bachchan'. She acted in Hindi movies as 'Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa', 'Silsilay', 'Dil Jo Bhi Kahey', 'Family - Ties of Blood'. Bhumika returned to Telugu, acting in the films 'Naa Autograph' (2004) and 'Jai Chiranjeeva', paired with 'Chiranjeevi and Sameera Reddy'. In 2006, Bhumika appeared in the Tamil film 'Sillunu Oru Kaadhal', paired with real-life couple 'Surya and Jyothika' which became a big hit worldwide.

In 2008, Bhumika made her debut in the Punjabi film industry, starring in 'Yaariyan', opposite Gurdas Maan. In 2009 she debuted in Malayalam as well, starring in 'Bhramaram' alongside 'Mohanlal'. She producing a film in Telugu is 'Thakita Thakita' in 2010
