Karthi is an Indian film actor who mainly works in the Tamil film industry. He was born on May 25, 1977. He son of Tamil Actor Sivakumar, His mother is Lakshmi. Karthi has two siblings, one elder brother named Suriya, is also an Actor, one sister Brinda. He completed Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Crescent Engineering College, Chennai. Karthi married Ranjani On 3 July 2011, The pair have a daughter named Umayaal.

Karthi actingdebut movie is Paruthiveeran. Karthi second project is Aayirathil Oruvan directed by Selvaraghavan. Karthi performances in Aayirathil Oruvan and Paiyaa earned him further nominations at the 58th Filmfare Awards South in the Best Actor category. He had agreed to play the lead character in Linguswamys next film Paiyaa, it was very successful.

Karthi next movie is Naan Mahaan Alla directed by Suseenthiran. His movie Siruthai, a remake of the 2006 Telugu film Vikramarkudu. He played two roles as a thief and a police officer. Karthi done a political comedy film, Saguni, directed by Shankar Dayal. His film All in All Azhagu Raja, which featured him opposite Kajal Aggarwal and Santhanam.
