Her parents are Jit Bendre and Roopsi Bendre, she has two sisters. she done schooling in Kendriya Vidyalaya Malleswaram and Holy Cross Convent High School, Thane. She married film director Goldie Behl on 12 November 2002. she gave birth to a son Ranveer.

Bendre starred opposite Telugu Superstars Mahesh Babu in Murari, Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Nandamuri Balakrishna in films such as Indra, Shankar Dada M.B.B.S., Angaaray, Manmadhudu,Palanti brahma naidu
She hosted the 50th Filmfare Awards with Saif Ali Khan and Farida Jalal on 2005. She was a judge on Mr & Mrs Television, Indian Idol 4 and Indias Got Talent.
