Acting Entry

Sridevi is a childhood actress. She acted a Tamil movie "Kandhan Karunai" in 1967. In 1971 Sridevi acted in "Poombatta" the Malayalam movie, for this she won the "Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist". Sridevi acted as a child artist in the movies "Kandan Karunai" on 1967, "Nam Naadu" on 1969, "Prarthanai" on 1970, "Babu" on 1971, "Vasantha Maaligai" on 1972.

Sridevi debut movie is " Julie", in this she played younger sister of lead role. She played her lead role in Tamil movie " Moondru Mudichu" directed by K.B1alachandar. In 1977 she was acted in "Gayathri", "Kavikkuyil" and "16 Vayathinile".

Film Career

Sridevi acted with "Rajinikanth" and "Kamal Haasan". In the year 1981 sridevi acted in Tamil film "Meendum Kokila" for this movie she won "Filmfare Award" for Best Actress. Sridevi s hit Telugu films are "Konda Veeti Simham", "Kshana Kshanam", "Vetagadu", "Sardar Paparayudu" and "Bobbili Puli". Sridevi also appeared in movies such as "Mudulla Koduku", "Premabhishekham", "Bangaru Kanuka" and "Premakanuka", "Kalavari Samsaram", "Krishnavatharam", "Burripalem Bolludu", "Khaidi Rudrayya", "Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari", "S. P. Parasuram" and "Govinda Govinda".

In 1983 she opposite "Jeetendra" in "Himmatwala" it was a block buster hit in bollywood. She was a lead actress in Bollywood. Sridevi strong onscreen pair with "Kamal Haasan" in Tamil films from 1977 to 1983 and then with "Jeetendra" in Hindi Films from 1983 to 1988. She was also appeared with "NTR", "ANR", "Krishna Ghattamaneni", "Vishnuvardhan" in Telugu and Kannada films from 1978 to 1985. In the year 2012 come back with the movie "English Vinglish" directed by "Gauri Shinde".

Sridevi also appeared in the TV series "Malini Iyer", judge for a TV show "Kaboom" as well as appeared in numerous print and TV ads. Sridevi is also on the Board of Directors of the "Asian Academy of Film & Television".
